Integrated campaign: Absa L'Atelier Art Competition

To quote one of the guys at work and his response to this campaign: "When do you get a chance to Tim Burton the fuck out off a campaign?" Hee hee. So far it's placed in Creative Circle's Ad of the Month 2012 for Print, Radio and Experiential.

LOERIES BRONZE WINNER: Golden Cloud "Edible poster" POS

This was too much fun. An in-store activation that literally had mommies and babies blocking the aisles with their trollies. It was a poster you could eat. A poster made from the product we were trying to sell - the Golden Cloud Cookie Mix. I based the copy on the way the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street speaks. We held activations with schools in the area of the store (the Spar in Douglasdale if my memory serves) to get them excited and drive traffic in-store. Apparently, the results in terms of sales were phenomenal (I will post them as soon as I have them - changing agencies can impair one's ability to get result info).

This won a Bronze Loerie in COMMUNICATION DESIGN: BRAND IDENTITY & COLLATERAL DESIGN - POSTERS & BILLBOARDS in the 2011 Loerie Awards.

Illustration: Adidas Kopanya - 13 Cannes shortlists and Creative Circle Ad of the Month May 2009

The Adidas Kopanya Campaign for TBWA/Hunt/Lascaris ran in South Africa, Egypt and Spain. I painted all jerseys and boots as well as Pienaar, Messi, Silva and Villa. It has been shortlisted for Cannes, was a finalist for the One Show awards and was the Creative Circle's Ad of the Month for May 2009.

GOLD ASSEGAI WINNER: Standard Bank Achiever "Get there" campaign - Gold Assegai Award

I was lucky enough to be responsible for all the online and radio copy for this campaign. At the tender age of 23, I became known as voice of 70 odd year-old Myles, the butler, whose main aim was to teach the youth about money.

Here's a screen shot of the website...

An example of a 30" spot... (there were lots of them)

A 10" tag before the traffic report...

An example of a ringtone...

This was a highly effective campaign which won a Gold Assegai award. I attribute this entirely to my awesomeness as a writer. Nudge nudge, wink wink :)

Finalist for 2009 street pole competition

We were one of the top ten finalists for this competition - yay!

Young African travel writer of the year 2003

This was a creative writing competition run by the African Geographic and Exclusive Books that I entered in matric. It made my English teacher, Sharon Seftel, very, very happy when I won. I've never seen an elderly woman dance like a monkey before.
